My laptop performance has been degrading quite recently, up to a point where I have to restart it nearly 2 or 3 times per day, when it does simply freezes itself so I have to restart it anyway.

On top of that, and this is the most annoying thing ever, it recently has started as well to have constant 10 to 20 second freezes, where the screen becomes completely unresponsive, like a full freeze, but it comes back after those 10 to 20 seconds. When this happens I have to restart as well, as the freezes happen every few minutes.

Why

No idea why this happens. Docker? Too many apps open? PHPStorm? All of them?

How to fix it

Reset NVRAM or PRAM. See

Shut down your Mac, then turn it on and immediately press and hold these four keys together: Option, Command, P, and R

This is leading me to search for alternatives to using Mac as the main computer, at least to run all the artillery on it (Docker, Vagrant, PHPStorm, ...). More on this soon.
